Vancouver, Canada based jewelry designer, Linda Freedman Katz offers original, one of a kind Sterling Silver designs, using organic techniques
developed after years of study, exploration and discovery.
Her jewelry collections were born out of creative play, the making of interesting components and the fascination of combining them in an unusual way.
Formerly from Winnipeg, her professional career in Clothing Design has provided her with an abundance of ideas and a drive to create versatile jewelry which makes a fashion statement and especially complements the person wearing it.
Always the visionary and hands-on artist, Linda forever seeks the unique, the interesting and the unexpected in the world around her. Her understated elegant collection of organic texture and misshapen form expresses Linda’s quirky personality and unique style.
Natural textures such as tree bark or seashells, contemporary architectural shapes, abstract art or even free forms of jazz music have the ability to stimulate Linda’s imagination.
Her creative expressions then unfold with the strike of her hammer or the firing of her torch. Forging or melting Sterling Silver at extremely high temperatures with sometimes unpredictable results, produce varied textures and visual effects to Linda’s jewelry. Using organically friendly products and techniques are important in her BC studio.
Fired bronze and copper components, also hand fabricated by Linda, add a richness of color and impart an eclectic look to her creations. The resulting Mixed Metal creations are synonymous with Linda’s casual, fun, signature look.
