I grew up in the Rocky Mountains surrounded by artists and nature where I had the opportunity to tap into my innate connection to the spiritual properties of the environment and art. I moved to the prairies to study environmental design and interior design and further explore the relationship between people and their environments. Now I make art immersed in the prairie landscape just outside Winnipeg. I work primarily in acrylic with a focus on color and form. I have started building my own frames for my work as an extension of the making process.
My paintings are a reflection of the material surroundings and the magic of the universe that is often overlooked. I am inspired by the dichotomies and contrasts of the universe, the intersection of material and spiritual, and the connection to the magical and spiritual properties of the natural world through the processes of making and abstraction.
