Ken's spiritually and emotionally charged works in gouache, are inspired by his Mennonite background, his architectural studies and his spiritual teachings.

Artist Statement
A man… with a rich Mennonite heritage…a heritage, carved from an ancestral history of persecution and fleeing in the night

A man… whose spirit is deeply rooted in the blacklands of  Manitoba…the blacklands that beckoned his people

A man… with a great love for the Canadian north…a land of lakes, forests and granite rock…deep, and full of mystery

A student… of ancient teachings…teachings of universal truth, as told by the voices of the Elders

A student… of the Modern Architectural Movement…a movement with its simple mantra, “less is more”

A man… who is traditional…yet at the same time contemporary

A man… who is an ordinary workman…privileged to hold the brush and the pen, while the creative Artesian well gently gushes forth its riches

A man… who is a grateful man…grateful for a gift that has finally awoken from its half-century sleep
